Canguro o.n.l.u.s. Flights Aid

The relentless economic crisis in Argentina continues creating increasing poverty and health problems.

For this reason the association is again collecting food, pharmaceuticals and hospital equipment to help the local populations in some way. .

The second mission for the poor in Argentina was carried out in the months of February and March 2004.

For this mission we collected:

• 6 tons of children's food
• 1 ton of pharmaceuticals
• 11 orthopaedic hospital beds
• 1 bed for spine traction

The overall value of the material donated amounts to 130.000 Euros.


PARTICIPANTS

EXPENSES

The expenses incurred by the association amount to 1.750 Euros.


Due to the large variety of the products transported, we faced unexpected problems with customs.

The local burocracy slowed down the papers thus making the Argentina2 mission last a total of 7 weeks.

Despite the slowness for the customs papers, the delivery was later carried out without difficulties thanks to the prompt support of the "Fuerza Aerea Argentina" that put a C-130 Hercules aircraft at our disposal for the delivery of the material.

DELIVERY OF THE PRODUCTS

The products were delivered to:

• Director of the “Delizia C. Masvernat” Hospital, Dr. Bernardo Henquin, in the city of Concordia in the Province of Entre Rios.
• Father Andrei Servin of the “Nuestra Senora de Lourdes” Parish, who coordinates a common refertory that distributes 600 meals daily to the poor children of the area.
