In November 2007 following the hurricaine Noel in the Carribean that brought death and devastation, Livingston airlines contacted us so as to organise a joint mission.
We contacted our usual partners which again gave their immediate response, in a substantial and rapid manner therefore making an immediate and extremely efficient intervention possible.
Livingston airlines was in charge of transporting the products and two members of Canguro onlus Flights Aid to La Romana - Dominican Republic.
The products were delivered in the areas that were mostly struck by the hurricaine with the help of the "Primera Dama's" office and the precious support from the Crisis Unit.
The director of the Dominican Republic's Tourist office in Milan, Ms. Neyda Garcia, coordinated and took care of the hotel accomodation at Viva Wyndham Palace for all our staff's stay during the mission.
Thanks to the companies and institutions listed below, we collected considerable amounts of food and medicines despite the short time frame available.
Medicines: 11 Tons
SPA (Societŕ Prodotti Antibiotici)
Food: 11 Tons
Azione Solidale di Parma (Barilla e Pavesi)
Footwear: 1 pallet
Azione Solidale (FlyFlot)
Costs incurred by the association for the Dominican Republic mission amount to € 1.400,00.
Our thanks go to all those who made this umpteenth humanitarian intervention possible.
